The Challenge

World Table Tennis (WTT) has completely revolutionized the sport, transforming it into a high-octane, premium arena experience. As the Lead Motion Designer for their live global events, and working closely with the Event Manager, the challenge was twofold: adapting the client’s newly provided graphic materials for each unique international tournament, and managing the complex technical execution under the intense pressure of a live broadcast environment. Because sports are inherently unpredictable, this role demanded absolute precision, immense adaptability, and the ability to bridge the gap between creative animation and stadium engineering.

The Live Event Experience: Global & Technical Adaptability

For every event on the global circuit—spanning host cities from Sweden and Germany to Singapore—the client provided fresh, raw graphic assets. My task was to take these static materials and breathe life into them, adapting the animation language to fit the specific branding and scale of each venue's massive LED screens.

Crucially, my role extended beyond animation to technical directing. I was responsible for creating the detailed LED Mapping configurations and pixel templates for the on-site technical vendors. This ensured that the high-resolution video animations we produced mapped flawlessly across complex, non-standard physical screen layouts without distortion or resolution loss.

On-Site Execution & Real-Time Production

Operating live and on-site required being on constant standby to handle urgent, high-priority creative requests as the tournament bracket unfolded. From sudden player changes to unexpected match milestones, I engineered a rapid-response workflow to update the arena's visual ecosystem in real time.

The comprehensive live event package included:

Technical LED Mapping & Vendor Hand-off: Architecting precise pixel maps and screen templates for local engineering vendors to follow, ensuring perfect playback alignment on-site.

Venue-Specific LED Adaptations: Animating and optimizing client-provided graphic suites to fit the unique physical screen dimensions of international arenas.

On-Demand Match-Up & Profile Updates: Generating instant, high-energy player intro screens and head-to-heads as the tournament progressed toward the finals.

The result was a seamless, hyper-dynamic stadium experience executed flawlessly across multiple continents, proving the power of technical precision and high-fidelity motion design in the high-stakes world of live global sports.
